Kris Aquino’s schedule to interview President Duterte was today at 4:30 p.m. This was supposed to be the first time both parties will be in close quarters, after Duterte became president.
It also marked Kris’ comeback to the small screen seven months after her last appearance on KrisTV. It also has been two months since she left ABS-CBN.
Kris Interviews Duterte: To Start Late, News Alert Issued at 5:00 p.m.
Aksyon TV started the live telecast with a news alert. According to the alert, the event is slated to start in a few minutes. It also mentioned that it is part of the Go Negosyo SME Summit held at the SMX Convention Center in Davao.
The newscaster also revealed that the event was made possible through Kris Aquino’s own media team. Kris promised to have some interesting and “pasabog” (explosive) questions for the president.
Kris Interviews Duterte: Pres Duterte Not Feeling Well
When the live telecast continued, a representative from the Presidential Communications group announced that the President was not feeling well and cannot attend the event. According to them, DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello will be attending in the president’s behalf.
Despite this change, however, the show must go on. Joey Concepcion of Go Negosyo then called Kris on stage. After she went around shaking people’s hands, she started her spiel for the show.

Kris looked radiant in her green dress and one of the guests, Cong. Joey Salceda commented “Lumipat lang, gumanda na (she looked better after she moved stations.)”
Before starting her interviews with the SMEs present, she also had a message for President Duterte: “Please give me a chance. I hope one day, mamahalin mo rin ako.” This was of course met with applause from the live audience.
She also cited that she attended the event not only for the interview, but also because she believed in the power of SMEs to bring about inclusive growth. With that, she then proceeded to calling the SMEs featured in the event starting from kalamansi juice concentrate, coffee, chicken, among others.
