Kris Aquino Slams Imelda Marcos Necklace Rumors

Kris Aquino allegedly wore Imelda Marcos' diamond necklace on APEC event

Kris Aquino broke her silence about a controversial issue. This involved a necklace  she wore during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) event last year. The diamond necklace was likened to that of former first Lady Imelda Marcos’ diamond jewelry. Reports have been circulating that the jewelry the ‘Queen of all Media’ wore to the APEC event was the diamond necklace that belonged to Imelda Marcos.

On Sunday, October 9, Kris Aquino posted video on Instagram captioned, ” My friend JC Buendia & my sister Viel both showed me this paulit ulit na FB post. The necklaces supposedly belonged to Mrs Marcos & I was brazen enough to wear them for the APEC DINNER. Duh? The necklace I wore was made from cubic zirconia & silver- hindi po DIAMONDS, in other words fake sila although Bottega Veneta naman. ENOUGH! And the TRUTH is on my side- including credit card receipts.”

Kris Aquino, no access to Imelda Marcos necklace

During the heat of the issue on 2015, Philstar reported that the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) said Kris Aquino did not have any access to Imelda Marcos’ seized jewelry. This statement was released after photos of Kris wearing a diamond necklace went viral online. The former first Lady Imelda’s diamond necklace has been stored at the Banko Sentral ng Pilpinas for over two decades. In the report, PCGG commissioner Andrew de Castro said that since it is in a high secured facility, Aquio had no access.
