1. It All Started With A Chance Encounter

According to producer Dory Morales, she chanced upon Kris while she was dining at Shangri-La in BGC. She admitted that she herself was a big fan of Kris. Remembering that Kris usually had a special show for her birthday, she asked the artist if she was doing one for her birthday this year.

When Kris responded that she was merely going on vacation, Dory offered the idea of doing a special show.

2. It Almost Never Happened

To this offer, Kris’ initial response was of disbelief, but Dory said that she was serious about it. Kris then said that she will get in touch with her soon. When Dory pushed her to set an exact date to talk about it, Kris almost backed out, saying that she would rather focus on her business. Dory then said that it did not need to be a weekly show, and that it can just be a one-time thing. The day after, Dory got a call from a friend of Kris to discuss the concept.

3. The Show Was Offered To GMA-7 And ABS-CBN

Dory said that she recognized Kris’ need to have blanket authority in the production. So she allowed her to choose her director and production team. When Kris asked her to look for a network for the show, Dory shared that she approached both ABS-CBN and GMA-7.

4. The Reason Why The Show Is On GMA-7

It so happened that GMA-7 was the fastest to respond. According to her, negotiations only took two days so that they could get blocktime for the new show. Although ABS-CBN had available blocktime, the network usually prioritizes the shows it produces.

5. People Will Still Watch Kris, No Matter The Network

Lastly, Dory said that she is very confident that people especially her fans will watch the show no matter where it is shown. She feels that people have missed Kris so much that they will be eager for her comeback in whatever form.
