This week, Tandingan sang A Great Big World’s hit song “Say Something.” An acoustic guitar accompanied her rendition. Since joining the show, her performances have gone viral on the internet most especially for her rendition of Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” beating international singer and performer Jessie J. Tandingan is a known fan of Jessie J and was fortunate enough to meet her idol during one of the episodes. Tandingan placed fourth out of eight contestants. This is her first episode as a regular contender. She placed third in the show’s last two episodes. Tandingan claims that she did not expect how she ranked this week. KZ Tandingan: It was a last-minute song choice Although Tandingan’s delivery is soulful, she says that it was not her first choice. In an interview with ABS-CBN, Tandingan said she got a call to find out that she needed to change her song last minute. She tells MJ Felipe before her flight to China to tape the episode that the producers picked the song for her. It was a good thing that she knows the song. But the problem is the producers wanted the song to be in a different arrangement. Personal guitarist Macoy Portado flew to China to accompany Tandingan in her performance. This made the last-minute change for her song choice easier. She felt connected to Portado who she has done collaborative work in the past. This week’s challenger is Tengri.
