Hallyu star Lee Min Ho has started his mandatory military service as a public service in Gangnam District Office in Seoul on May 12. MYM Entertainment made an official statement in April giving details on the actor’s enlistment. Now that “The Legend Of The Blue Sea” star has formally started his service, let’s take a look at his activities before his assignment as a public service worker.
Lee Min Ho will not immediately serve the military boot camp. His assignment was due to several injuries he incurred in the past. The 29-year-old actor met two car accidents- during a trip with friends in 2006, and during a shoot for his drama “City Hunter” in 2011.

On May 11, makeup brand Innisfree shared Lee Min Ho’s beautiful photos during his pictorial at Jeju Island. The actor is all smiles with his experience with Jeju Island’s green tea fields, beaches, and orange trees. Soompi quoted a staff saying, “Lee Min Ho wanted to travel the clear and clean Jeju Island, and put the enjoyment and charm that he felt in Jeju in the pictorial. We expect that you will be able to see both the beautiful sights of Jeju as well as Lee Min Ho’s great visuals.”

During the interview, the actor shared his thoughts about joining the military. Allkpop reports Lee Min Ho has a lot of things he regrets. He told Allkpop, “It’s not that I regret going to the army, but the fact that my 20s are passing away right before my eyes. Now that I am approaching my 30s, I find a lot of things I could’ve done better in terms of projects. I am also sad because I am getting older.”
On the other side, the Hallyu star shared the positive side of joining the military at a later age. That is, he didn’t miss the lead role for “Boys Over Flowers” which earned him popularity around the globe.

Manila Bulletin reports that Lee Min Ho will work at the district office from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. including a one-hour lunch break. The Korean heartthrob has to serve in the military for two years while completing 40 hours of service per week.
