Liza Soberano is being hailed as the Filipino Wonderwoman at least on Twitter. This doesn’t seem too farfetched as the 19-year-old actress has recently accepted the role of Darna. She takes on a role that Angel Locsin couldn’t do because of health reasons. Angel shares something with the new Darna that make us believe she’s more than happy that Liza is taking on her role. The upcoming movie is slated to be helmed by Erik Matti.

On May 30, Liza of the popular loveteam LizQuen said she already accepted the role of Darna which was originally supposed to be reprised by Angel Locsin. Angel played the Filipino superhero character in 2005 which became a hit TV series in that year. Angel was revealed to play the role when it was announced in 2013. Two years later, ABS-CBN released a statement saying Angel wouldn’t be able to take the role because of health reasons. Her dedication to the role demanded rigorous training which then damaged her spine.

Now that Liza is confirmed to be the new Darna, fans on Twitter could not help but feel excited about her new adventure. Even Angel Locsin
