“Bagani” star Liza Soberano cussed in Filipino on a new birthday greeting video that has gone viral. Instead of bashing, the netizens praised Soberano saying that she was “cute” when she did it. Offscreen rumored lovers Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto responded to critics on April Fool’s Day. As a prank, netizens  fabricated news about them, saying that they were “breaking up.”

While others laughed about what happened, others claim that people saying Soberano was “cute” while cussing had issues with double standards. Artists often get away with their online mishaps. This shows how popularity affects how people treat you.

Previously, Liza Soberano drew flak online for her claim that she is Filipino, which was really not the main concern. The issue is that she connected the idea of being Filipino to liking a dish that is not predominantly “Filipino” in nature. This week, Soberano faced another controversy. This time, it is about her cursing on social media. In the 5-minute video, when Soberano was about to greet a fan, she cussed on camera. The video instantly got mixed reactions from netizens. A Twitter user said that Soberano is a true “legend.” She transitioned from “I love Sinigang” to “Tangina mo” in a heartbeat.

 Of course, her fans came to defend her side.
 

 As of press writing, no one from Soberano’s side commented on the issue. Her current love team and real-life lover Enrique Gil is silent as well.

JoshLia, responds to rumors of breaking up

In reality, the love team continues to lay low on their rumored relationship. Until now, there are no confirmations about the relationship between both parties.

In a tweet, Garcia addressed gossipers and said: “Anong alam nila sa atin na hindi natin alam tungkol satin?” He tagged Barretto. In a quote retweet, Barretto replied saying: “I also don’t know baba.” (The couple’s word of endearment is “baba.”)

 After the series of tweets, JoshLia fans rejoiced that the rumored story was a hoax.

However, due to the incident, the rumored couple posts fewer photos online now. They are notorious for being an open book to the fans.
