POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG RECAP: Jodi Sta. Maria and “Bridges of Love” did not win the titles at the International Emmy Awards at the Hilton New York Hotel On Monday evening, November 21. Jodi was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress for the 44th International Emmy Awards. ABS-CBN Star Creatives’ “Bridges of Love ” was nominated as Best Telenovela.

Jodi Sta. Maria was with Star Creatives manager Henry King Quitain, unit head Des Tanwangco, chief content officer and last year’s gala chair Charo Santos-Concio and ABS-CBN Program Acquisitions and International Distribution head Leng Reymundo.

Four days ago, Jodi Sta. Maria left for New York to attend the International Emmy Awards 2016. She posted a photo on Instagram captioned, “And off to the IEmmys I go, Thank you so much for praying for me.”

Jodi Sta. Maria Walks The Red Carpet

In a report by ABS-CBN, Jodie said her red carpet gown was inspired by her character in the nominated prime time drama. She tells ABS-CBN, “Hindi naman everyday na nakakatisod tayo ng isang nomination from the Emmys, Maganda naman na maipresenta natin ng maayos ang sarili natin at siyempre pupunta ako doon na hindi lang naman sarili ko ang nire-represent ko, pati ang Philippines din.”

International Emmy Awards 2016 Results For Best Actress And Best Telenovela

Best performance by an Actress award went to Christiane Paul for “Unterm Radar.” Despite the results, Philippines is still proud of the actress’ nomination.

There are no statements from the actress yet but before Jodi left for New York, she tells ABS-CBN, whether she brings home the trophy or not, she is honored to be a nominee. She said, “Sobrang naiyak na lang talaga ako. Hindi ko na ito inisip eh. Ma-recognize ka nga lang dito sa Philippines, enough na nga iyon. Pero para maisama pa abroad, tapos Emmys pa, parang, ‘Huh? Totoo ba ito?’ Sobrang sobrang sobra na.”

The winner for Best Telenovela went to “Verdades Secretas.” Philippines is still proud of “Bridges of Love” and its cast Jericho Rosales, Maja Salvador and Paulo Avelino.
