On Sunday November 13, Cessnock District Rescue Squad in Australia rescued a cat. The cat’s head was stuck in a shower drain. Doug and Paul of the CDRS Kurri Kurri came to the cat’s rescue after the call was made by the pet owner.
The cat’s name is Kiba. CDRS on Facebook said that Kiba the cat had become “well and truly stuck after some kind of investigation into the drain went wrong.” Well, curiosity didn’t kill the cat this time, it just got its head stuck.

The volunteers were able to save the cat using tools from a finger kit. They use this finger kit used usually for ring removal. Now, it was used to save a cats head! Who knew?
The owner seems to be Christ Threadgate. He thanked the CDRS on Facebook and said, “Seriously thank you again guys, we wouldn’t have been able to get him out if it wasn’t for your amazing work.” To that the CDRS said, “It’s our pleasure.”
On November 13, the CDRS had another rescue. They saved a pet cockatoo which had its wings clipped in the branches of a tree. On a more serious note, the group rescued people trapped in a vehicular accident on November 9. The driver lost control and crashed on its roof against the veranda of a house.
