Miss Bulgaria Violina Ancheva shared her excitement for Zyra’s big night via social media, according to a PEP.ph report. Posting a photo of Zyra getting ready for the prom, she captioned it: “Today is the big day! It’s Zyra’s prom! I am so excited.” She wore the dress during the Miss Universe coronation night in Manila last January.
How Zyra Got Miss Bulgaria’s Gown
With a stroke of luck and brilliant timing, Zyra got the dress after her mother, Issay responded to Miss Bulgaria’s Facebook post. On January 30, Violina announced she will give away her designer gown to someone who needs it for her prom.
Issay immediately responded to the post, describing herself as a single mother of two. She also mentioned her teenage daughter who will be going to her prom in a month’s time. In an exclusive interview, she related how she met Miss Bulgaria and how thankful she and her daughter are.
When news about Zyra getting the gown, some netizens could not help make negative comments about it. Some netizens went as far as say that Zyra appeared to come from a family that could afford the gown. Miss Bulgaria spoke up about this and told people to stop the bashing and respect her decision.
