Share on Facebook Share on Twitter The battle of the smartphones is heating up once again, as Apple gears up for the release of the next generation iPhone 8. With Apple keeping mum about what it has in store for the new handset, rumors and leaks have been circulating, the latest one reported showing images of an iPhone 8 prototype. According to an Inquirer report, Instagram user Benjamin Geskin shared photos of an iPhone 8 prototype. Goodbye Home Button, Hello Edge-To-Edge Screen If the leaked images are in fact that of an iPhone 8 dummy model, then Apple will really go for a major redesign of its flagship phone. The photos shows the absence of the physical home button. The photos also indicate an edge-to-edge screen. This agrees with an earlier report by Hypebeast that the iPhone 8 will sport a curved OLED screen. This is similar to what the Samsung Galaxy S8 has. Prior to posting actual photos, Geskin has been sharing renders of what he says will be the phone’s design. Aside from the leaked photos, he also shared alleged blueprints of the phone’s design. Vertical Dual Camera and Better Benchmark Results? Based on his posts, Geskin claims that instead of the oval camera on top, Apple will go for a vertical camera on the upper left hand corner of the device. He also claims that the new camera will allow for 3D VR shooting with its dual camera set-up. According to a BGR report, leaked benchmark results reportedly show the alleged iPhone 8’s A11 chip scoring 4537 single-core and 8975 multi-core in the Geekbench 4 test. This shows a significant improvement in performance compared to the iPhone 7’s A10 chip. The report however warned to take these leaks with a grain of salt. If it is true, however, it indicates that the physical redesign of the iPhone 8 is what Apple is betting on, and not its processor performance. iPhone 8 Dummy (This is CNC model according to Foxconn) #iPhone8 #iPhoneX #iPhoneEdition A post shared by Benjamin Geskin (@venyageskin1) on Apr 23, 2017 at 3:17am PDT Facebook Comments
