If you’ve caked your face up a good amount of times, then you probably can tell what it means. M is for Matte. And for the longest time, people with unfortunately oily skin have the greatest challenge when it comes to picking the right foundation for them. This 2017, L’Oreal offered to help them out. They released the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation that boasts a 24-Hour Lasting Effect. This Infallible Pro Matte Foundation has a total of 12 shades– from a creamy Classic Ivory to a soft Cocoa hue. I bought the Natural Beige shade and it costed me about P700 for 30 ml. Compared to its seatmates in the shelf, L’Oreal does have a more expensive price tag– and it’s for a good reason. For me, that is. How Pro Matte is the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation? On my first look at the L’Oreal Infallible Foundation, I thought it didn’t look like much at all. And the price tag sure weighed a lot more than the weight of the 30 ml plastic tube. I look to my right, and I see a much heavier amount of foundation and priced almost half of this L’Oreal one. But because I needed– and I mean needed– a matte foundation, I swallowed my hesitation and chose the former. This Pro Matte Foundation is definitely “Pro Matte” for a reason. With a small pea-sized amount on my palm, I smudged the product across my cheeks. On the surface of my skin, were a few bumps that instantly disappeared with a swipe of my silicone sponge. Okay, not entirely disappeared, but the discoloration was nowhere in sight. Good coverage? Check. Another upside to this, is that it’s lightweight. It doesn’t feel like it’s caking up the skin. Instead, it feels like I’m just patting some liquid on until it would matte up and instantly feel like it wasn’t there in the first place. As soon as it turns matte, I did notice how I didn’t need to set it with powder anymore. I only set it on my T-Zone, where I knew I would be most oily. Surprisingly enough, the claim for all day lasting effect is something I can acknowledge. Truthfully, after wearing it from morning till night time, it was only after noon that I saw the sheen on my forehead. And to me, that was pretty impressive. A little retouch, and I’m back on the game! Last brownie point for the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation is for its effortless removal. With a few swipes with my wipes, I was able to collect much of the makeup off. No scrubbing needed. But just in case, a good rinse of water and soap would be advisable. Sadly though, there are downsides of this. First of all, I can’t testify that it is indeed creamy. When applying this, you have to be quick in spreading it and making it reach as much as the product can because it sets quickly. Once it’s matte, it stays matte. I also find the pea-size to be insufficient for my taste. Since it sets quickly I tend to end up missing a few parts of my face, so I have to squeeze a few more from the tube. Second, its history on testing animals. Disappointingly, L’Oreal does test its makeup on animals and not everyone wants to support that kind of treatment. So if you don’t want to think you’re hurting little critters, you might want to put the product down before reaching the counter. When it all goes down to matte-ness, L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation does live up to its label. And for its 24-hour lasting effect? We can say it’s definitely wearable for an all-day event. I would recommend this promising piece of foundation. But only for those who are sure about what it means when they finally purchase it. Facebook Comments
