Through the years, the Philippine showbiz industry has produced countless love teams. They keep the same pair for as long as the public love them. Sometimes, the longer they stay together as a tandem, the bigger the chance for a budding romance. James Reid and Nadine Lustre (JaDine) can thank the public for their real relationship. Same is true for Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil who are known to be together on and off screen. Meanwhile, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla (KathNiel) and Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza (AlDub) continue to let the people guess whether or not they are actually together in real life.
AlDub started unexpectedly when the Maine’s face was caught on camera upon seeing Alden. KathNiel met when they were in their mere teens and starred in a show together. LizQuen started when they filmed a phenomenal show in Baguio City. JaDine began as two existing artists who came together for a project. Kathryn and Daniel probably set the standards for love teams today. From 2011, KathNiel continues to grow with projects like “Got to Believe,” “She’s Dating the Gangster,” and “Barcelona.”
Fans are tossing in turning in their beds figuring out if there is really something between them. In an interview with SunStar Manila, Daniel says they are exclusive to each other. But it is still unclear if they are officially dating or are just together with no labels.
2. James Reid and Nadine Lustre (JaDine)
With James as the rich bad boy and Nadine as the awkward “ugly” girl, “Diary ng Panget” set JaDine in stone. From on-screen romance to a real-life couple, JaDine is the definition of #couplegoals. Their Instagrams will make you jealous with cute pictures of traveling together.
3. Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil (LizQuen)
The pair’s first project together was “Forevermore,” a series about a typical rich boy and poor girl. This show was a springboard to the love team’s huge fan base and success. With projects like “Everyday, I Love You” and “Bagani,” it’s hard to miss the obvious chemistry between them.
Darna is Liza’s first project without Enrique. Even so, the Philippine heartthrob still supports her by going to the gym to train with her.
Fans rejoiced when the two admitted to loving each other on “Gandang Gabi Vice” last February 2017. Although they don’t have a label, there is no denying the feelings they have for each other.
4. Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza (AlDub)
What sets AlDub aside from all the other loveteams is that they were unexpected. Maine Mendoza was put on “Eat Bulaga” just for the laughs as Yaya Dub. That is until the second camera panned to Alden’s face. They caught Maine’s genuine reaction to seeing the heartthrob. From then on, their fan base has grown to ultimate levels with both young and old loving them.
The excitement the audience felt when the pair sees each other through screens and the thrill they get when they plan on meeting in person but fail is what make their love team strong.
