The much-awaited romantic movie of the young love team of Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia has hit cinemas on Aug. 30 and is creating quite a stir among movie goers. This is the pair’s second movie together and most reports note their undeniable chemistry. Some reports have even dubbed them as the next Rico Yan and Claudine Barretto.

1. Not Your Usual Romantic Drama

This Antoinette Jadaone film is not your usual romantic drama. It basically takes a look at young love in the midst of life’s tragedies. Julia Barretto plays Mika, a girl on a mission to reach Mt. Milagros where she plans to get her close encounter with aliens. She later meets by chance Joshua’s character, Caloy, who is embarking on his own personal mission.

The movie follows the pair’s road trip, and every moment is shown as a chance for Mika and Caloy to get to know each other, and eventually fall in love.

2. Julia Barretto And Joshua Garcia At Their Best Yet

According to a PEP.ph review, both young stars give “stellar performances” in the film, showing how much they work hard at honing their craft. The pair’s chemistry has long been noticed since their first movie together and other notable performances.

This is not their first time to tackle young love in the midst of tragedy. Who could forget their MMK episode, Endless Love, where Julia plays a young girl with cancer and Joshua, the loyal boyfriend who tragically dies?

3. It Is A Well-Made Film

The film’s location is set in Batangas, where Mika drives her trusty Kia and where she meets Caloy. Most of the scenes feature both of them as they talk and drive, but according to PEP.ph, the film’s cinematography had its way of “helping the story along.” Production design despite being set in ordinary locations such as Mika’s room was equally good, giving the aliens backstory some credence.
