When Rustom gets transferred to the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Manila, Joy decides to leave her home in Isabela to also live in Manila nearer Rustom. By this time, Maya has come to forgive her daughter to the point that she supports the relationship while she works in prison. He had an affair with someone else. Heartbroken, Joy decides to go back home to Isabela and live with her mom who is finally released from Prison. Within that same year, however, Rustom finishes his sentence and asks Joy to go back to Manila with him. When Joy said yes to this, things only go from bad to worse. She realizes that Rustom is not the man she first came to know. He became violent and abusive. As a mother, Maya sees all this and only desires her daughter to come home to her.
