Maalaala Mo Kaya: A Transgender's Love Story

Maalaala Mo Kaya’s episode for October 15, tells the story of a young boy named Bong who, at 14 years old, felt that he was not the man others expect him to be. In the story’s gist by ABS-CBN, Bong hid his true nature for many years, specially from Fernando, his father. When his father died, Bong embraces his alter-ego, “Erica,” and found out that Lolet knew about this all along. She has accepted him regardless. Soon enough he meets Nick with whom he experiences being loved.

However, when Nick decided to be a seaman, Erica is left to deal with his heartache. It was Lolet that has guided him and gave him strength. Bong strived and decided to go to Spain to provide for his family and then finds out that Nick returned to the Philippines, already married to a woman. To forget his torment, Bong starts dating a rich Spaniard named Carlos who offers to marry him. Bong rejects this because of the differences in their family background. He was in a rollercoster from that time on. Towards the end, he realizes that it was his mother that deserves the greatest place in his life. He then brings Lolet to Spain to embrace a new beginning – one that is well-deserved.
