How Would Maine Mendoza Handle A Breakup?

Maine Mendoza is out and about getting sun-kissed on the beaches of Zambales. She turns 23 on March 3 and seems to be having an early celebration with some friends. Meanwhile, her on-screen partner, Alden Richards, is busy dominating the nominations for the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Music for Song of the year and Male Recording Artist of the Year.

Everybody knows, at least AlDub fans know for sure that Maine and Alden are officially just friends and workmates contrary to what most people believe. This phenomenal love team have had millions of followers since 2015. Fans have been following them since the Kalyeserye segment of “Juan for All, All for Juan” and have grown with them even until they got married on screen in Oct 2016. The pair celebrated their “first wedding anniversary” in October 2017. Around a month after, Maine surprised everyone when she released an open letter to fans about the real deal about her life, how she felt she was living in a box and how she and Alden are just really friends. The issue became such a controversy that even Lolit Solis weighed in on it. She said that Maine and Alden are individually talented artists and were both ready to fly on their own. So what have they been up to after the whole issue?

Right after that open letter, Maine decided to take a break from showbiz and spent the holidays abroad with her family. A report by the Inquirer says Alden was able to talk to Maine before she took a leave. He mentioned they both deserve a break and to be “far from everything.” Maine returned to showbiz on Jan 1 and even attended Alden’s birthday on Jan 2 at his restaurant. Fast forward to the end of January, Maine unfollowed Alden on Instagram and said that it was nothing but an honest mistake. She tweeted, “No bad blood here. Napindot lang talaga. Sorry na. Happy fiesta.”

With AldDub’s on-screen relationship for two years, and then Maine saying he and Alden are just friends and accidentally unfollowing Alden on Instagram, it seems these two are going through an on-screen breakup phase. If it is an on-screen breakup phase, what has Maine been doing since she “friendzoned” Alden? Let’s take a look.

Maine’s open letter was published in November 2017. Following Maine on Instagram, one would find the liberating things Maine has been doing. Similar to what a typical lady would go through after a breakup. Then again, not so typical, after all she is Maine Mendoza.

Trying something new on New Year’s day, Skydived! 

For the New Year’s, Maine decided to do something she has never done before. This thrill seeker wanted to know how it felt to fly and fly she did. She posted about it on Instagram saying she almost cried before jumping but as soon as she did, she felt nothing but absolute bliss. When Maine said she felt like she was living in a box, this definitely brought her out of it for sure!

I have always wondered how it would feel to fly. How do birds feel when they soar through the sky. How it feels to see everything from up above. I was fortunate enough to experience this in the magic city— Miami. Funny thing, I almost cried while sitting inside the aircraft– incredibly nervous and happy– because DAMN I cannot believe I am actually doing this! (There is nothing more nerve-racking than the anticipation; from signing the waiver to the plane ride up; and when they open that motherfriggin door mid-flight! Jusko ang puso ko!) But when we jumped off, I felt nothing but absolute bliss. For the most part, it felt unreal to me. It was breathtaking– literally, too. It was amazing. Best part is I didn’t pee my shorts! Seriously though, I cannot believe I actually did it; I took the ultimate plunge! I was so freakin scared but still I made it alive. Lol! Next on my bucket list is to do it alone. (Charot, semi-not charot!) It made me realize most of the things worth doing starts with being nervous or terrified. You just gotta take the leap and make it happen. You might just be amazed at what you could achieve and how far your jump can take you ONLY if you take the chance. Sabi nga sa Nike, “just do it”! Some things are always worth a try. At the end of the day, chances are you'll be thanking yourself for taking the risk because it made you happy… or at least alive. I hope we all get to experience new things and collect wonderful memories this 2018! Happy New Year, everybody! 😉

After taking a much needed break, Maine decides to think of herself and her own career and just create something she could do on her own.

Traveled on her birthday!

Maine Mendoza turns 23 on March 3. GMA News says she was spotted in Zambales with a couple of her friends for a quick getaway. Now we aren’t sure if this is an early celebration but we’re thinking it could be. Now we know Maine and Alden didn’t actually go through a breakup. But knowing that these two have been practically married on screen and are now obviously doing things on their own, we thought it would be nice to see how these two are doing after Maine said she and Alden were just friends and not really together. Plus, admit it, you did get a thing or two on how you would handle your own breakup, right?

Breakup or not, it’s great to see Maine Mendoza moving on from one of the most difficult times in her career.
