Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards are in the spotlight for an issue about their relationship with each other. Recently, Maine revealed all in an open letter through her blog site about the real deal between Alden and her on-screen love team partner saying they were just friends. Alden, on the other hand, “said” he was single. Both Alden and Maine addressed these issues and had messages for bashers and fans alike.

The AlDub love team has been entertaining fans all over the world since July 2015. They started in GMA’s noontime show Eat Bulaga appearing in a segment called Kalyeserye of “Juan for All, All for Juan.” Through the years, they’ve built a super wide fan base called the AlDub Nation. In June, Maine deactivated her Twitter account with 4M followers. This was during the time when she was being linked to co-star Sef Cadeyona. The actor drew flak from die-hard fans since it takes away the spotlight from Alden. Before she deactivated her account, her captured screenshots talked about disconnecting to reconnect and how taking a break is necessary to save yourself and other from drowning. Maine Mendoza’s open letter, Alden reacts to bashers

On Sunday, Nov 26, Maine Mendoza wrote an open letter through her blog site to AlDub fans. She said she needed to “let some things out of her chest” which she could only do through writing.

The lengthy letter started off with thanking her fans for the support she and Alden have gotten over the years. She also said, “by the end of this letter I am pretty sure majority of you are going to turn your backs on me and probably hate on me.”

To summarize, she talked about how fans accepted her for who she really was from the very beginning and how she didn’t need to pretend to be anyone to be liked. She was thankful for the opportunity to give happiness to fans by being just her. Maine then talked about how amazed she was at the support she was getting from the AlDub fans since 2015 and how everything was just light and happy.

However, two years later, Maine said a lot has changed. She said she felt like she is at the point where she feels like she lives in a box. She talked about how hard it was to express her thoughts and feelings because some would misapprehend and invalidate them in many ways. Maine also mentioned how some would go to the point of dictating what she should feel and think. She even asked herself if she was made by God or by people and if she is compromising her freedom and her own happiness. This is where she decides to choose herself and not compromise anything for other people’s desires.

Maine then spoke about Alden and her and said fans deserve to know the truth that they are both just friends. A loveteam. She said she was never into money or fame. She was always in it for the happiness. Maine said she was ready to face consequences of having just a few supporters after the letter. Even if none, she said she was happy that she has her family and friends.

Reading the comment thread on the post, naturally, there were some fans who have commended her for her honesty. Some also expressed more love for the love team. But then there were also some who felt negative about it saying she and Alden should have been honest from the very beginning. Some say they were hurt but were thankful that she didn’t create false hopes for her and Alden. Some apologized for “clipping her wings” and for their love that has been at times “constricting.”

On Twitter, Maine posted a tweet a day after her open letter addressed to bashers saying. “You are all right. I deserve all the hate in the world because I am such a cowards and a selfish brat. I get it and I understand.”

Alden Richards on bashers. Meanwhile, Alden Richards talks about how bashers will always be a part of their lives. In a report by PEP, a certain Thai host revealed that Alden supposedly said he was single. This was news that wasn’t that good to the ears of some AlDub fans since they know for sure that he and Maine are together.

When asked about bashers, Alden said, “They’re still there, always around, lurking around our social media account and personal lives. But I’ve learned to accept the fact that they will exist no matter what we do.” He went on to say that somehow some would always think that they are wrong no matter what they do.

Alden said he can’t do anything but just to pray for them and hope that they would be enlightened to be “busy with their own lives.” He said he doesn’t pay attention to haters on social media and said he avoids answering them so it doesn’t lead to a bigger issue.

It seems Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards of the phenomenal love team AlDub are just asking for a bit of space. The question is will fans understand, accept and move on or will those followers hit that unfollow button really soon?
