Photo via Maybelline Philippines Facebook Share on Facebook Share on Twitter With tons of Foundation products to choose from, there still seems to be trouble choosing the right one. Issues like skin type, sebum control, allergies, genes, and whatnot, are factors that have a significant effect on how the product performs. A few days after the beginning of 2016, one of the leading makeup outfits in the Philippines, Maybelline, released its Maybelline FitMe! Collection. This FitMe! product is available in four different formats, namely: FitMe! Matte+Poreless Liquid Foundation, FitMe! Foundation Stick, FitMe! Pressed Powder and FitMe! Concealer. These products have about eight to sixteen shades depending on the format. One of the reasons why I was so curious about this product, was because it was significantly priced lesser than the former products of Maybelline. Other than that, I was lucky enough to purchase the FitMe! Liquid Foundation Matte+Poreless at one of Maybelline’s generous sale offers. So instead of paying P399 for it– I paid P299. Not bad for impulse buying. Compared to the Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Foundation that I was currently using, this FitMe! Liquid foundation is priced P100 less– even if both are 30 ml. Foundations from L’Oreal usually cost P400-P500. And they aren’t even matte. Applying the Maybelline FitMe! Liquid Foundation First taking in a pea size on the back of my hand, I slowly pat it with a silicone sponge and smudged it across my face. The application was fairly easy– it didn’t really dry off too soon and it could still be re-smudged across the face after applying it the first time. Now for such a small amount, I can definitely see it go a long way. In fact, the coverage on my face is impressive. I have dark spots and blemishes on my face and the product covers it up with ease. While it may require another pea sized amount for a smooth, flawless and patched finish, one can do for me. I noticed how my pores had been covered just right. So because this is Matte, I didn’t have to pat on face powder. But I still put some on to hold the product in place. Finally all throughout the day, the Maybelline FitMe! Liquid Foundation had stayed with me for the entire duration. When I sweat and dab my face with a tissue paper, I can spot some product coming off, but it’s definitely a lot lesser than that of the creamier Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Foundation. Finally, when I removed the product, believe me when I say it wasn’t as hard as I had anticipated. Soaping it removes most of the product off, but it’s safer to still use a toner for my fear of some foundation seeping into my pores. So no trouble there. Unfortunately, like many things in this world, it isn’t perfect. Firstly, the packaging isn’t in a pumping bottle. So it’s a lot harder to measure the sizes I take. It would have also been a lot more convenient for me if it were so. Secondly, while it’s still a Matte product, a few minutes after application, oils will start to appear making my T-Zone shiny too quickly. Thirdly, it can be a little too yellow for a few people. While the tone of the Maybelline FitMe! Liquid Foundation fit my skin perfectly because my skin is a little yellow, it may not be the same for most people for it oxidizes differently on other pinkier skin tones. Should you try the Maybelline FitMe! Liquid Foundation? In my opinion, it’s definitely worth trying. I, together with a lot of people, believe in its full-coverage, poreless finish. Not to mention that the price is right– and it can get better if you buy it on the right occasion. Especially for Filipinos who usually, naturally have a yellow skin tone. And of course, Maybelline FitMe! Liquid Foundation is P399, 30 ml and it’s matte. You don’t get to see that every day. So better try it! Facebook Comments
