Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Baguio’s very own beauty pageant, Miss Baguio 2017, has begun accepting applications this week. Applications from all the barangays in the city are now being accepted by the pageant’s organizer, Sonny T. Productions. Eligible candidates from the different barangays may apply to join. According to Sun Star Baguio, the search for the most beautiful girl in the city will be part of Baguio Day celebrations in September. Women who are residents of Baguio for at least a year and between 17 to 25 years of age are qualified to join. Applicants also have to be single and have to be at least 5 feet 4 inches in height. Miss Baguio 2017 Details The beauty competition is held yearly and this year, it culminates in the month of September which marks the foundation day of Baguio City. Next week, from July 17 to 21, a preliminary screening of applicant-candidates will be done. A final screening follows on July 27 and 28. Both screenings will be conducted in different venues at the Baguio City hall. The final roster of candidates will have several pre-pageant activities for the month of August. This includes photo shoots, lectures on personality development, radio and TV appearances as well as participation in barangay level activities. The candidates will also join the Baguio Day parade on September 1. Pre-pageant competitions are scheduled from September 1 to 3 at the Baguio Convention Center. The grand coronation night follows two weeks after, on September 17 also at the Baguio Convention Center. What Is At Stake This year, Ms. Baguio will win a cash prize of P50,000, a trophy, gift certificates and packs from sponsors, as well as a scholarship. Ms. Tourism, the first runner-up, will receive P30,000 while the second runner-up, or Ms. Liga ng mga Barangay, will receive P20,000. All candidates who make it to the final roster will also be receiving scholarship grants. Among the grants they can choose from include Licensed Massage Therapy under the Department of Health or Massage Therapy National Certificate 2 under TESDA or Diploma Course in Hotel and Restaurant Resort Services under TESDA.
