Miss Universe 2017, Celebs ask support for PH bet Rachel Peters
Miss Universe PH bet Rachel Peters recently mentioned how she knows the whole country is behind her, and knowing this keeps her going and inspires her to do her best. Support coming from the Philippines is indeed very visible as the hashtag #Philippines went top trending.
Celebs also called on support for Rachel on Twitter. Vice Ganda of ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime said, “Big favor, please! Tweet your support to Rachel Peters and use #MissUniverse #Philippines. This will help her secure a spot. Please!” Vice Ganda’s tweet has been retweeted 41k times.
Maine Mendoza of AlDub, on the other hand, asked help from AlDub Nation for support saying, “I believe in the power of AlDub Nation! Let’s continue to support our candidate for Miss Universe 2017 Ms. Rachel Peters by using the hashtag #MissUniverse #Philippines Go Rachel!” Maine’s post got 40k retweets.
Gretchen Ho also warned netizens about those who are trying to sabotage the hashtag being used. She said, “Looks like there’s an attempt to sabotage the hashtag of the Philippines by turning the “L” into a big “I.” She went on to say, “Spell it out whole when you tweet it instead of clicking the trending hashtag. #Philippines #MissUniverse.”
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN reports that as of the first day of voting, Philippines and Thailand are in the top of the list.
