The DFDCFI wasn’t so happy about the Miss Universe committee’s decision on getting a non-Mindanaoan to dress up the candidates for the fashion show. According to the Inquirer, the group said on Tuesday, ““Call it proper and befitting, the Mindanaoan designers have all the rights and benefits to best represent the distinctive fashion and style of Mindanao, in the first place.”

The report further said the group was not consulted at all regarding the committee’s decision on the matter and said that they were insulted by the decision to have designer Renee Salud represent their city while she isn’t even from Davao.

The group said that they will continue to stand by their opinion and hopes that the issue be addressed by the Miss Universe committee.
