The 65th Miss Universe pageant in the Philippines is one of the biggest and most anticipated event of the year and it is days away. Candidates are expected to arrive in the Philippines starting January 12 and will have their schedules full until the grand coronation night at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City on January 30, where reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach will then crown the next Miss Universe.

In December last year, Tourism secretary Wanda Teo of the Department of Tourism announced the upcoming events for the 65th Miss Universe pageant in the Philippines. After meeting with pageant organizers and partner, the final 16-day itinerary for the international beauty contest has been revealed. Some events have been cancelled since the initial announcement due to tyhpoon Nina.

Miss Universe Final Itinerary In The Philippines

The pageant week starts with a trip to Boracay in January 14 according to Secretary Wanda Teo who announced the final itinerary on Wednesday according to ABS-CBN. From the initial announcement in December, trips to Albay and Iloilo have been cancelled due to the recent typhoon. Here is the final itinerary of the Miss Universe candidates in the Philippines.

January 15 – Miss Universe 2017 Photoshoot and Fashion show, Vigan, Ilocos Sur
January 16 – The Governors’ Ball at SMX, Manila
January 17 – Miss Universe 2017 Swimwear Competition at Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark, Cebu
January 18 – Strawberry picking event, “The Crown” Meet and Greet, Baguio City
January 19 – Beach wear photoshoot, Batangas and Davao City
January 21 – Fashion Show by Miss Universe candidates at SMX, Manila
January 22 – Women’s Empowerment Night at SMX, Manila
January 23 – Courtesy Call on President Rodrigo Duterto, Malacanang
January 24 – Miss Universe 2017 National Costume Competition, World Trade Center
January 30 – Grand Coronation Night, Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City (8:00 AM), Tickets to the Grand Coronation Night have been up for sale since December.

Miss Universe Host And Backstage Anchor

In December, it was confirmed that Steve Harvey will again be the host of this year’s Miss Universe pageant despite the unfortunate turn of events during last year’s pageant. In the report by ABS-CBN, it is confirmed that Steve Harvey will be arriving on January 22.

Report also says Ashley Graham will be the backstage anchor during the event. Ashley Graham is a plus sized lingerie model who has appeared on the cover of Elle, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Glamour.

Miss Universe PH Bet Maxine Medina Is Hot Picks

Miss Universe PH bet Maxine Medina has been preparing for the pageant and posted a photo on Instagram in December saying, “Yes! I am ready. I can’t wait for my adventure soon.” In a report by the Manila Bulletin, pageant groups like Missosology and Global beauties have been following each candidate and released their “hot picks” based on their photos, videos, and interviews.

In the report, it says PH bet Maxine Medina is consistent in their list and Global Beauties says Maxine was ranked second to Columbia. Indonesia, France, and Venezuela are next and completes the top 5. For Missosology, Maxine takes 6th spot. Thailand takes first followed by Brazil, Netherlands, Colombia and Barbados.

The Miss Universe 2016 Grand Coronation will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on January 30. Viewers at home may watch via GMA and Solar Entertainment.
