After a week or so, she was surprised to learn that her missing iPhone was in a place she’s never been before, the Philippines. Get to know how this US based writer for Yahoo! traced the whereabouts of her iPhone. Missing iPhone Found In Tanay, Rizal Philipines Jennifer Rogers took to Yahoo! the story of how she lost her iPhone. She called the phone “quite the traveler” and was so bewildered to learn that it was in Tanay, Rizal Philippines. Jennifer and her kids were on their way visit her parents. The iPhone which was in her backpack was stolen at the San Francisco Airport on December 21. According to Jennifer’s story on Yahoo!, she was too busy attending to her kids and luggage at the airport’s curbside that she didn’t pay attention too much to her backpack. Both the American Airlines and the San Francisco Police Department weren’t able to to find her things. So how did Jennifer find out it was in the Philippines? iCloud. Thanks to Apple’s Find My Phone and iCloud, she found out that her phone was in the Philippines. Jennifer saw photos of those who had her iPhone on her iCloud account and the Find My Phone app alerted her that the unit was 7,200 miles away. She then used Google Earth to trace her iPhone and even called the Tanay Police Department and told them exactly where the phone was. The Tanay Police Department asked Jennifer if she could go to the Philippines or if she had any relatives in the area to help. Unfortunately, she had none. Jennifer used the Find My Phone app to lock the phone and erase all data. She left a message on the lock screen to contact her through email but there was no response. Rogers said she didn’t have any idea if the people who had her phone had anything to do with stealing her phone or if they knew the phone was actually stolen for that matter. She just wanted to get in contact with them to retrieve at least the backpack that had “irreplaceable and sentimental jewelry.” Jennifer Rogers ended with the statement, “Maybe it’s finally time to get that iPhone upgrade.” Facebook Comments
