Kimerald star in #MMKReunited, March 18. Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu star in Maalaala Mo Kaya’s March 18 episode about young love that is lost and found after many years of waiting. The story will revolve around the second chance to love amidst the test of time, distance and unexpected turns. Gerald is a 12-year-old boy named Bernard who shows his affection for Kim Chiu’s character, Cze. As the years go by, their love only grows fonder but Gerald is forced to leave because his family migrated to the United States. When the period of silence seems to be unending, Cze and Bernard realize that a long-distance relationship is a struggle. Kimerald’s Letters and Portraits Spark Romance Love letters and sketched portraits made Cze and Bernard’s affections for each other grow. It took years before Cze finally said yes. Patience has its rewards, as they say, and Bernard did it right. He honored the wishes of Cze’s parents to court her only at their home when they were of age. Ever since they confessed their love for each other, everyday seemed to be like a walk in the clouds. But then, things start to take a toll. Parting is Not Sweet Sorrow for Kimerald One afternoon, Bernard’s grandmother confronted Cze. She told her to leave Bernard alone because ever since they were a couple, Bernard sleeps late and doesn’t give as much attention to his schoolwork as before. She refuses this because of what she felt. Bernard’s grandmother then mentions that there are some urgent news concerning him. Cze finds out from Bernard that his father petitioned him to go to the US. Although Bernard disagrees to this and tries his best to say that he would rather stay, he did not have any choice. When he arrived in the States, the sense of home is lost. His father always gives him the cold shoulder. He does not feel like he was his son. Through phone calls and letters, the two keep encouraging each other. Both promise to wait until they are reunited. To do this, they both work and land jobs on the same line of business – the food industry. Cze is a cashier and takes orders while Bernard waits on tables. They save money consistently to keep the communication strong and for Bernard to go back home to the Philippines. For Kimerald, Things go from Bad to Worse Just when Bernard was able to save some money, his dad demands to take his savings. This leads to a heated argument. In the end, Bernard’s dad kicked him out of the house. Bernard lost everything and ended up living in his car. On the other side of the world, Cze is desperate. She goes to Bernard’s home to talk with Bernard’s family but she, too, is sent away. Bernard’s grandmother even said that Bernard is living his own life and loves another. The misinformation leaves Cze’s heart wounded. She is forced to live without Bernard. Reality Bites for Kimerald In a period of six years, the two did not communicate at all. If there is one good thing that came out of those six years it is that Bernard’s relationship with his dad is restored. This allowed Bernard to live a bit more comfortably with stability. He never forgot his promise to go home to Cze. He was now finally able to go back to the Philippines. When Bernard and Cze meet, everything seems shattered. Bernard learns that Cze got pregnant and had to get married. Bernard is left to explain what had happened. He can do nothing else aside from that. Although they still both love each other, they each had to deal with their own concerns in life. Cze admits she still loves Bernard but has to pursue the marriage because of her child. Bernard, in utter defeat, throws away the engagement ring he had planned to give Cze for a long time. He decides to leave the Philippines on the same week as Cze’s wedding. From Letters to Facebook, Kimerald Start Over Nine years passed since the last time Cze and Bernard met. Within that period, Cze’s marriage is annulled because of an affair her husband had. Cze now raises her daughter by herself. While she was spending time with her daughter talking about Facebook, somehow, Cze and Bernard begin a conversation. It felt the same as the time they were writing letters. After all the wishful thinking and what-if moments from both of their point of views, Cze and Bernard come face to face with what they really feel. After so long, they still love each other. From then, till now. Bernard and Cze are happily married with two children. Facebook Comments
