People in the showbiz industry look like they have it all: fame, money, power. But even if they’re old enough to live alone and strong enough to be alone, they’re all still children in the eyes of their moms. Mother’s Day 2018 fell on May 13, the day everyone in the world took a breath and thanked the first woman who ever loved them. Celebrities like Liza Soberano, Julia Barretto, Alden Richards, and Kobe Paras used their Internet fame to show their mommies some love. Celebrity moms like Marian Rivera, Ruffa Gutierrez, Sharon Cuneta and Carmina Villaroel took to Instagram to give their followers a glimpse of how they celebrated being mothers.

Mother’s Days 2018 is an extra special day for Heart Evangelista-Escudero. It’s her first Mother’s Day as an actual mother, kind of. Two days ago, she announced through her Instagram that she and Sen. Chiz Escudero, are expecting a little one. In the photo, she’s hugging her husband and holding up a tiny baby onesie with the caption, “The greatest of blessings all in God’s perfect timing! Our beautiful family just got a little bigger. We can’t wait to meet you little one…”

Mother’s Day 2018 Heartfelt greetings

With all their fame and fortune, celebrities still look back on how they got to the top and who to thank. These are some of the ones who gave the spotlight to their mothers.

1. Liza Soberano

They might not have been blood, but they are family. Liza celebrated Mother’s Day a day early with her grandma Norma and her stepmom Rinnai Soberano. Even with a dinner out with her grandma and stepmom, she didn’t forget to mention her two other mommies. “Im very blessed to have not one but 3 moms who are always there for me. Missing my Mom and my mommy Divina, but they’re always here in my heart.”

2. Julia Barretto

Julia Barretto and her siblings went up a notch for their mom, Marjorie Barretto. She posted on her Instagram their surprise for her, gold streamers, heart banderitas and “Breakfast made with love.” Marjorie’s reaction is enough to make anyone tear up.

Added to the post was Julia’s baby picture with her mom hugging her. The caption was basically about how grateful she is to have Marjorie as her mom. “Happy Mother’s Day to my rock, my life, my everything. The true warrior. Thank you for raising me to be the person that I am today,” she wrote.

3. Kobe Paras

After around a decade of being estranged, Kobe Paras is finally happy with his biological mother, Jackie Foster. He dedicated three Instagram posts to celebrate and thank his mom and to show his love. One was a photo of him, his older brother Andre, and his mom. He also posted a black and white photo of the two of them in a pool when he was a lot younger.

The second one was a solo photo of Jackie with a lengthy and heartfelt caption. “Happy Mother’s Day to my best-friend, twin, shopping buddy, other half, super mom!! I have never felt so complete in my life,” he started. The next part of the caption was subtly addressing their estrangement. “I just want to thank you for never giving up on me & kuya, for always fighting for us, and for always praying for our well being.”

4. Alden Richards

Mother’s Day is a hard time for Alden Richards because he lost her when he was 16. But that didn’t stop him from honoring and celebrating her. In the noontime show he’s part of, “Eat Bulaga!” he dedicated a performance to his late Mommy Rio with the Broadway Boys.

What pulled everyone’s heartstrings was his answer to Allan K.’s Luna’s question. When he was asked, “Kung nandidito siya ngayon, anong sasabihin mo ngayong Mother’s Day?” all he said was, “Uwi ka na.”

5. Isabelle Daza

Daughter of 1969 Miss Universe Gloria Diaz, Isabelle Daza posted on her Instagram a different kind of Mother’s Day greeting. She battled it out with her sister, Ava, to see who knew mommy dearest better. The three of them were on a bed, Gloria in the middle to ask them the sizzling questions. The video was both cute and hilarious.

She also gave credit to the other woman who raised her, Yaya Luning. In another Instagram post, she posed with her mom and her yaya with the caption, “Mother’s day is everyday!”
