Take your pick from this week’s playlist: “Pansamantagal,” “Five Feet Apart,” “Us,” “Drunk Parents,” “Papa Pogi,” “Enchanted Princess,” “Homestay,” or “Take Point.” Movie Mix March 20: It’s All About Variety Gelli de Belen and Bayani Agbayani star in “Pansamantagal” – a rom-com film directed by Joven Tan. For sure, Gelli and Bayani will be throwing their winning lines, both as comedians and “hugot” experts. “Pansamantagal” marks the return of Gelli to the big screen after nearly two decades. “Five Feet Apart,” tells the story of two young people who are sick with a genetic lung disorder called cystic fibrosis. Even if they are forced to stay certain feet away from each other, they still find ways to have a relationship. Haley Lu Richardson and Cole Sprouse play the roles of patients Stella Grant and Will Newman, respectively. Freaky doppelgangers (referred to as “The Tethered”) of the Wilson family cause chaos in “Us.” Described as a “marvelous new American horror story” by IGN Entertainment, the psychological horror film written and directed by Jordan Peele has made waves. The movie stars Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, Elisabeth Moss, and Tim Heidecker. Salma Hayek and Alec Baldwin are two “Drunk Parents” who try desperately to hide their bankruptcy from their daughter and their social circle. The film was written by Fred Wolf who also wrote “Grown Ups.” It also stars Jim Gaffigan, Bridget Moynahan, Joe Manganiello, Treat Williams, Aasif Mandvi, and Ben Platt. “Papa Pogi” is a movie about finding love that has nothing to do with looks at all. It features Showtime host Ted Corpuz and as his first starring role in a movie, he is joined by Myrtle Sarrosa, Donna Cariaga, Joey Marquez, Dawn Chang, Nonong Ballinan, Zeus Collins, Luke Conde, Lassy, and Nikko Natividad. “Papa Pogi” is directed by Alex Calleja and produced by Regal Films. “Enchanted Princess” is a Russian animated film that tells the story of a prince who sets out to find a missing princess accompanied by a dragon. Irina Medvedeva, Anton Makarskiy, Lyudmila Artemeva, Natalya Medvedeva, and Aleksandr Pozharov are among its credited cast. Thai drama thriller fantasy film, “Homestay,” is based on a Japanese novel entitled “Colorful” by Eto Mori. It is about a spirit who inhabits the body of a teenager called Min who took his own life. This spirit wants to bring Min back to life. South Korean action film, “Take Point,” zeroes in on an elite CIA operation to apprehend a prominent North Korean official which incites fear of a third world war. “Take Point” stars Ha Jung-woo, Lee Sun-Kyun, Jennifer Ehle, Kevin Durand, and many more.
