Movie Mix January 16: Explosive Movies To Start The Year Right “Marry Poppins Returns.” Now, this just sings of classic heartwarming nostalgia. Mary Poppins returns to the fully grown Banks children and their very own kids. And just like before, she takes them on wonderful adventures. Emily Blunt reprises the role of the much-beloved nanny. And joining her are Lin-Manuel Miranda, Dick Van Dyke, Ben Wishaw, Emily Mortimer. Other household names here are Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, Julie Walters, and Joel Dawson. “Glass” completes the Eastrail 177 Trilogy following director M. Night Shyamalan’s films “Unbreakable” and “Split.” The plot sees David Dunn pursue Kevin Wendell Crumb’s superhuman persona The Beast. And Elijah price watches as it all happens under his orchestration. Bruce Willis, Samuel L Jackson, Spencer Treat Clark, Charlayne Woodard, James McAvoy, and Anya Taylor-Joy are back to reprise their roles from previous films. “Bumblebee” has received quite the warm welcome from critics and viewers alike. Some have even called it the best film of the “Transformer” franchise. The film set in the 1980s revolves around Bumblebees first arrival on Earth. Joining the loved Autobot are Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Jason Drucker, and Pamela Adlon. In the horror division, the Thai film “Ghost Wife” is making a name quite a scare. Based on the classic tale of Nang Nak, this film chronicles the story of Nard. After Nard becomes pregnant with her boyfriend Mac’s child, her mother forces her to commit abortion. Unfortunately, Nard dies on the table and returns as a ghost. When Mac returns, he doesn’t realize this. And then, the terrors begin. On the lighter side of things, “Deadpool” now has a version even kids can watch in the guise of “Once Upon A Deadpool.” Rated PG-13, this film is a retelling of “Deadpool 2.” Here, Deadpool kidnaps Fred Savage and tells him the events of the previous film bedtime story style. It still has the same funny anti hero antics but just in a friendlier tone that won’t make parents cringe and cover their child’s ears all the time. Facebook Comments
