Movie Mix October 25: Mythology, Cheating, and Love?
“Thor: Ragnarok” is the seventeenth film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film’s plot centers on the Hulk, Thor, and Hela. Two years after the events in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Thor is without his hammer Mjolnir held captive in Sakaar. In order to save Asgard from Hela (the Asguardian goddess of death) and the nearing Ragnarok, Thor would need to defeat the Hulk as gladiators in a duel. The movie produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures is directed by Taika Waititi.
Empoy Marquez’ search for love spills over in “The Barker” with Shy Carlos. The classic ill-fated sentiment in love is put in the limelight in this film directed by comedian Dennis Padilla. It tells the story of a simple man named Koko who is a barker by profession, in his run-in-the mill of calling on jeepney passengers, he is swept away by the character played by Shy Carlos named “Bella.” Although the two seem to have some mutual admiration, Shy’s father forbids them to be together. As the story progresses Bella gets kidnapped leaving Koko no other choice but to save her.
