Movie Mix November 29: Lighting up the December Movie Vibe

Everyone knows how the Grinch stole Christmas and has long been known as one of Dr. Seuss’s most beloved children’s classics. But in this remake, “The Grinch” is  less of a mean one and actually treats his dog, Max, very well.  In the film, instead of stealing Christmas out of pure hatred for the Whos, he does it to stress a point. The grouch who isn’t at all christmassy is played by Benedict Cumberbatch while the story’s narrator is Pharrell Williams. Other cast members include Angela Lansbury, Cameron Seely, Kenan Thompson, Rashida Jones, and more.

“A Private War” is a biographical drama based on the 2012 Vanity Fair article entitled, “Marie Colvin’s Private War” written by Marie Brenner. It is about a fearless war correspondent, Marie Colvin (Rosamund Pike), who relentlessly gives voice to those who have none in conflict-stricken areas. The film also stars Jamie Dornan, Tom Hollander, and Stanley Tucci.

Sports drama, “Creed 2,” is written by Sylvester Stallone and Juel Taylor. It is the eighth installment to the Rocky film series and a sequel to “Creed” (2015).  It tells the story of a light heavyweight contender, Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) who is trained by Rocky Balboa (Stallone) and fights against Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu). Viktor is the son of Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren), Balboa’s known rival.

“Three Words to Forever” reunites Sharon Cuneta and Richard Gomez, which will surely leave fans swooning and sighing. Richard plays the role of Nick who is married for with Cristy (Sharon). After 25 years together, they have grown apart and decide to separate after a bitter fight. But since their daughter Tin (Kathryn Bernardo) is coming home for the 55th wedding anniversary and renewal of Cristy’s parents, they decide to pretend they are okay and put the news of their separation on hold. To make the pretense even more convincing, Nick and Cathy agree to also celebrate their silver wedding anniversary.
