This week’s movie mix will not disappoint, mind you, especially with “Mamma Mia Here We Go Again,” “Billionaire Boys Club,” and “The Ninth Passenger.” And of course, to really get into the movie buff vibe, don’t forget to have a stock of munchies to snack on. Movie Mix July 18: A Musical, A Biopic, and a Thriller “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” is the much-awaited musical rom-com written and directed by Ol Parker. It is the sequel of “Mamma Mia!” which was released about 10 years ago. The story takes place five years after the events of the first musical on the Island of Skopelos, Greece. At this time, Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) now runs the villa of her mother, Donna (Meryl Streep), who has passed making things a bit more difficult for her especially now that she is pregnant. The movie reveals much about Donna’s past like how the villa started, how she was part of The Dynamos, how she met Sophie’s dads, and how she managed to raise her daughter, Sophie. Something to look forward to is the visit of Sophie’s estranged grandmother, Ruby Sheridan, played by none other than Cher. Other A-Listers included in the cast are Lily James, Christine Baranski, Jessica Keenan Wynn, Julie Waters, Alexa Davies, Pierce Brosnan, Jeremy Irvine, Colin Firth, Hugh Skinner, Stellan Skarsgård, Josh Dylan, and Andy Garcia. “Billionaire Boys Club” is a biographical crime drama that puts the limelight on the 1983 investment-and-social club in Los Angeles organized by Joe Hunt. The club basically attracted the sons of Harvard School for Boys’ wealthy families to get rich quick with a Ponzi scheme. These group of wealthy young men had a plan but took a wrong turn involving murdering an investor and con-man. The film stars Ansel Elgort as Joe Hunt; Taron Egerton as Dean Karny; Kevin Spacey as Ron Levin; Emma Roberts as Sydney Evans; Jeremy Irvine as Kyle Biltmore; and Thomas Cocquerel as Charlie Bottoms. “The Ninth Passenger” is a thriller about mysterious deaths in a luxury yacht. The story begins when a group of partying college students take a luxury ride in a yacht which is owned by a shady biotechnology CEO who is also the father of one of the passengers. What began as a night of spontaneous fun becomes a night of havoc when “something” sneaks onto the yacht causing the disappearance of each of the passengers, one by one. The movie stars Jesse Metcalfe, Alexia Fast, Timothy Murphy, Sabina Gadecki, Cinta Laura Kiehl, Tom Maden, Veronica Dunne, Corey Large, and David Hennessey. Facebook Comments
