The awards will have three major categories: Digital Art in Print, Animation and Digital Games. Deadline for entries will be on April 17, 2017. NDAA 2017 Categories: Digital Art and Animation With a theme #changeisherenow, this year’s awards will have three categories. Digital Art in Print and Animation will still be two major categories but this year will have a third and new category for Digital Games. According to the NDAA 2017 website, the digital art category will accept individual entries and will have sub-categories for students and professionals. Each entry must be an A3 sized rendition of the theme, made through any digital software. Each work must be original or if other materials are used, these must be in the public domain. The animation category will have a sub-theme “Philippines In 2038.” Unlike the digital art category, entries must come from a team of 2 to 5 members. Each entry must at least have 1 minute running time, up to a maximum of 3 minutes. Sub-categories separate the student teams from the professional teams. NDAA 2017 New Category: Digital Games Possibly the most exciting category in this year’s awards will be Digital Games. It also has the most number of sub-categories. First is 2D Art Character Design, and second is 3D Art Environment Design. The third sub-category is Game Design, of either a Casual Game or a Serious Game. The 2D Art Character Design is open to individual students and professionals. The 3D Art Environment Design will accept entries from teams of students and professionals. The Game Design sub-category requires entries for a Casual Game and a Serious Game. Teams of students will compete against each other for both types of games, and the same goes for teams of professionals. All entries must be original and must be submitted with a one-page Abstract of the artwork, software used and Certification of Original Work by the artist or artists in a team. The website provides a sample format for the certification. NDAA 2017 Deadline: April 17 Entries must be submitted on or before April 17. Check out the NDAA 2017 website for details.
