Nirvana’s “Nevermind” celebrates 25 years since it’s release on September 24, 1991. Nirvana has only released three studio albums, “Blew” released in 1989, “Nevermind” in 1991, and “Hormoaning” in 1992. It was the album “Nevermind” however that brought them to the top slot on the Billboard 200 chart and made them one of the most popular bands in the world. If lead singer, Kurt Cobain did not pass, this band would have taken over chart after chart.
Acccording to the Billboard, “Nevermind” was the centerpiece, everything before it led to the fame it brought to the band, and everything after it was just a response to the albums impact.
Nirvana may not have invented alternative rock, but they were the band who introduced it to the people. Bands of today owe it to them for making alternative rock a sought after genre of today.
Of four singles released from “Nevermind” in the US, three hit the Hot 100, according to Billboard.
