The movie line up this month is definitely worth planning for so be sure to round up the gang and give yourself some screen time to bust the stress and make time for yourself. Brace yourself and make way for “Destination Wedding,” “Little Italy,” “Para sa Brokenhearted,” “Tres,” “Venom,” “A Star is Born,” “Johnny English Strikes Again,” “First Love,” “First Man,” “Mowgli,” “Holloween,” “Serenity,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Hunter Killer,” and “The Nutcracker and The Four Realms.” October Movie Fest: 15 Films to Make Every Week Matter “Destination Wedding” (October 3) is a story of two miserable Scrooge-like wedding guests who realize that they aren’t miserable at all as long as they have each other even if they are both unlikeable. The film stars Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder. “Little Italy” (October 3) stars Hayden Christensen, Emma Roberts and Alyssa Milano in a film about Pizza Wars. Basically, the movie is about a couple who cannot help but fall for each other even if they know their families are archenemies in the pizza business. It may have been inspired by the Capulet’s and the Montague’s in “Romeo and Juliet.” “Para sa Brokenhearted” (October 3) is a film about love and broken hearts based on “hugot novelist” Marcelo Santos III’s best-selling novel of the same name. The story is brought to life by Yassi Pressman, Shy Carlos, Louise Delos Reyes, Sam Concepcion, and Marco Gumabao. “Tres” (October 3) is a thought-provoking action-thriller trilogy about anti-drug law enforcers, drug users, and drug traffickers. It stars Bong Revilla’s sons Jolo Revilla, Luigi Revilla, and Bryan Revilla. “Venom” (October 4) zeroes in on a man named Eddie Brock needs to release “Venom,” his alter-ego in order to save his life. The anticipated film stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams and Marcella Bragio. “A Star is Born” (October 10) features awarded actors Lady Gaga (Ally) and Bradley Cooper (Jackson Maine) in a film about a musician who helps a young singer and actress find fame despite personal struggles and frustrations in life. Rowan Atkinson returns in “Johnny English Strikes Again” (October 10) and this time the retired spy is asked to return to find the mastermind behind a cyber-attack that reveals the real identities of Britain’s undercover agents. “First Love” (October 17) is a film by Paul Soriano with Aga Mulach and Bea Alonzo playing the role of main characters. The movie is set in Canada and it is about a woman who cannot help but fall in love despite a life-threatening heart condition. “First Man” (October 17) features the events in the life of Neil Armstrong, known as the first man to walk on the moon on July 20, 1969. It stars Ryan Gosling, Claire Foy, and Jason Clarke. “Mowgli” (October 18) takes a more realistic approach to the beloved tale “The Jungle Book” starring A-listers Cate Blanchett, Christian Bale, Benedict Cumberbatch, Peter Mullan, Andy Serkis, Matthew Rhys, Tom Hollander, Jack Reynor, Rohan Chand, and Naomie Harris. After almost four decades, “Halloween” (October 24) returns and picks up from the haunting story of Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Michael Myers, the masked man who escaped from a terrifying killing spree one Halloween night forty years ago. “Serenity” (October 24) is a crime thriller about a fishing boat captain’s past that is out to get him. The movie stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Diane Lane, Jason Clarke, Djimon Hounsou, Jeremy Strong, and more. “Bohemian Rhapsody” (October 31) is a film that chronicles the success of the legendary band “Queen.” The band consists of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, John Deacon, and Roger Taylor. The movie stars Rami Malek, Joseph Mazzello, Mike Myers, Lucy Boynton, Aidan Gillen, Ben Hardy, Tom Hollander, Allen Leech, Gwilym Lee, and so much more. “Hunter Killer” (October 31) is a film about an untested American submarine captain who teams up with U.S. Navy Seals to rescue the Russian president who is kidnapped by a general gone rogue. Among the cast members are Gerard Butler, Gary Oldman, Ethan Baird, Jacob Scipio, Dempsey Bovell, Corey Johnson, Adam James, and Common. “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” (October 31) brings to life the classic Christmas story of a young girl who is magically transported to a world of gingerbread soldiers and an army of mice.
