Traditionally held every February, the festival fills the streets of the city with energetic street dancers, festive floral floats and naturally, lots of visitors. So you don’t miss out on the events lined up for Panagbenga 2017, here is the latest schedule of events. The Panagbenga Festival 2017 According to Baguio City Guide, the annual festival was created after Baguio rebuilt itself from the devastating 1990 earthquake. The first festival was held in February 1995 and was held every February after that. As with previous festivals, it will be a month-long celebration, marked with parades and other activities. Next year’s theme, according to the festival’s official website, is “Inspired by Beauty, Nurtured by Nature.” Panagbenga 2017 Line Up of Events In November 2016, the Baguio City Government and the organizing committee for the festival led by the Baguio Flower Festival Foundation shared the line up of traditional events of the festival. As usual, the festival kicks off with an Opening Day parade and program. Starting at Panagbenga Park, the parade will go through Session Road, Magsaysay Avenue, Harrison Road and will end at the Melvin Jones Grandstand.
