Beverly Cumla, the spoken word artist of the viral video “Ang Boyfriend Kong Writer,” continues her story about the love triangle with a new piece “Para sa Girlfriend ng Writer.” This time around, Pablo, the third person in the love triangle, writes to the girl.
In a chat with Ms. Cumla, she revealed that the idea for this spoken word piece came about when someone sent her a message. According to her, the guy claimed that he was the “real Pablo” in “Ang Boyfriend Kong Writer.”

Beverly Cumla On A Best Friend’s Plea for Forgiveness
This prompted her to write a follow-up piece “Para sa Girlfriend ng Writer.” She performed it and uploaded via the Lyceum of the Philippines Facebook page.
Once again, Beverly’s performance brought out the emotional ups and downs as experienced by Pablo. Incidentally, Pablo is the girlfriend’s best friend in the story. This time around, the story starts with Pablo’s pleas for forgiveness. Up until the end of the letter, he shows how much he values their friendship despite what happened.
A Best Friend’s Quest for Happiness
In between his lines of “Bes, patawarin mo ako” however, Pablo also tells his story of how he struggled with his emotions. He said that he was torn about telling his best friend about what was really happening between him and the boyfriend. He recalled the things he told her about wanting to be loved and cared for like her.
“You Were Loved”
Perhaps one of the most important messages Pablo left for his friend is that she was loved at some point in time. The line said: “Pero bes, huwag mong isipin na di ka niya minahal. Minahal ka niya. Pero ang hindi ko lang alam ay kung mahal ka pa niya.”
Towards the end of the letter, he also gave the girl assurance that she was better off without the boy. This also came with the assurance that she will find the right person for her, someone that deserves her.
