Daniel Padilla, Paul Salas

Paul Salas finally apologizes for the comment he made about Daniel Padilla during the Star Magic All-Star Game. Marco Gumabao, Daniel’s team mate, was the first to respond to Paul’s comment on Twitter. He is also now instrumental in having the two actors call it quits when it came to the Twitter war challenging the other to a basketball match.

Paul Salas, however, commented on what happened saying Daniel should have just played lazer tag or “swimming ka nalang.” He even added, “Curry na curry ba?” This reached Marco who responded to Paul’s comment challenging Paul’s camp to a 5 on 5 basketball match. This eventually reached Daniel and all turned to a Twitter war as Daniel responded, “Paul Salas, ano? Sagot.”

On Aug 17, however, Daniel finally spoke up about the issue. He expressed the real reason why he challenged Paul saying he just didn’t tolerate such comments, especially from a younger actor. For Daniel, when it comes to the industry, he makes sure he gives respect where respect is due most especially to older actors. That’s what he expected from Paul. He added that the Twitter war between him and Paul was just a results of so much that has happened and Paul added to the heat of it all. He had no intention of letting bashers pick on Paul on social media. He even called on fans saying they should move on.

Paul Salas apologizes for comment, Marco Gumabao explains

Marc Gumabao explains in a report by PEP that he responded to Paul Salas’ comment at that time in defense of his friend, Daniel. He said the tweet where he responded, “game naman ako 5 on 5,” was meant as a joke. He got surprised that everyone, including Paul and Daniel, took it seriously. He admitted he thought it was wrong for him to tweet something like that.

Marc also revealed that he talked to Paul that same night asking him why he made that comment about Daniel. He said Paul also thought he made a mistake and he wanted to apologize to Daniel right there and them. For Marco, they were all friends. People thought that they were all fighting but in reality, they were not. It was just a guy thing, he explains.

In a separate report by PEP, Paul also spoke about the issue saying he apologizes for the comment he made about Daniel. Paul says he hopes fans would understand that it was a basketball game and it was just normal that they would have a bit of trash talk. He also said he already spoke to Marco about it and apologized for it.

Paul also said that immediately after the exchange of tweets between him and Daniel, he immediately got Marco’s number and got in contact with him. He said it was just a misunderstanding. He didn’t have any hate towards Daniel, whatsoever.
