December is the busiest month of the year because of the nation’s biggest holiday, Christmas Day. This extends until New Year with almost two weeks of shopping, restaurant hopping, traveling and other activities that people do with family, relatives and friends. Amid all these things, one cannot deny the importance of money and one’s access to it. Here are the banking hours in the Philippines through the holiday season.
Banking Hours During Christmas Holidays 2016
Money makes holidays complicated most especially if one is not aware of days when banks are closed. Knowing the banks’ schedules for the holidays is one way to make someone’s life easier through the holiday rush.
1.BPI and BPI Family Savings Bank (Bank of the Philippine Islands)
BPI announced through its website that BPI and BPI Family Savings Bank will have extended hours on weekdays and on Saturdays in selected branches. On weekdays from December 5 to January 3, 138 BPI branches and 35 BPI Family Savings Bank will extend banking hours up to 6:00 p.m. and a total of 115 BPI branches and 30 BPI Family Savings Bank branches will be open on the following Saturdays: December 3, 10, and 17, 2016.

2.BDO (Banco De Oro)
BDO Unibank announced via Facebook that selected branches will be open on shortened banking hours on December 24, 26, 30, 31 and January 2. In a report by ABS-CBN, regular banking hours apply from December 27 to December 29.

3. Metrobank
Metrobank posted a list of branches open for the Christmas season. Selected branches will open on shortened operation on December 24, 26, 30 and 31. To check the list click here.
4. PSBank (Philippine Savings Bank)
All PSbank branches will be closed on December 26, 30 and January 2 but 611 ATMS will be online and PSBank Mobile and PSBank Online will be available according to the PSBank website. For more information click here.
5. Security Bank
As posted on the Security Bank website, Security Bank branches will be closed on December 26. Customers are advised to do their banking transaction on Friday, December 23. Regular operations will resume on December 27.
