Gallup International Association is the leading association in market research and polling. They released their 41st annual global end of year survey taking into account happiness, hope, and economic optimism. The research was made in 55 countries across the globe. A total of 53,769 persons were interviewed globally with around 1000 men and women from each country as a representative sample. The interview was done either face to face, via telephone, online, or field work during October to December 2017.
The survey reveals that the Philippines made it to the list of the Top 10 Happy Countries. Fiji takes the lead with a net score of +92, Colombia with +87 and Philippines with +84. Mexico takes the fourth spot and then Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, India and Argentina, Netherlands.

When it came to Economic Optimism and if respondents believe if 2018 will be a year of economic prosperity or difficulty, the Philippines got a net score of +32. Other countries that were optimistic about the economy were Nigeria, Vietnam, Indonesia, and India.
