Pia Wurtzbach Endorses Liza Soberano As Next Miss Universe Philippines, Liza Honored

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach endorsed actress Liza Soberano to join the next Miss Universe via Twitter. Pia has just crowned Iris Mittenaere from France as the Miss Universe 2016 and the Phillippines is now on the look out for the next Filipina to represent the country in the next Miss Universe.

Pia Wurtzbach on next Miss Universe PH, ‘If I Had to pick one, Liza Soberano. She’s Beautiful’

On Jan. 28 last year, Pia did a live question and answer via Twitter. Netizens were free to ask any question from the beauty queen with the hashtag #askmissuniverse. There were around 320 questions on the feed and one of those were about Liza Soberano. The tweet read, “Filipina celebrity you think could be Miss Universe?” To that, Pia answered and said, “I can think of a lot. But if I had to pick one… Liza Soberano. She’s beautiful.”

Liza Soberano Responds To Pia Wurtzbach

Two days after, Liza responded to Pia Wurtzbach via Twitter saying, “Thanks ate Pia Wurtzbach for the praise OMG nahiya po ako coming from the Queen. Congratulations again!!!” In a report by Interaksyon, Liza said that it was an honor for her that a lot of people and especially Pia Wutrzbach sees her potential as Miss Universe someday. But said, “I’m not closing any doors, but at the moment, I don’t see myself in that path.”

Liza went on to say that she enjoys her work as an actress and thinks that it is her comfort zone. She says, “I don’t think I would be able to handle all the pressure of well, being a beauty queen. And I don’t think I have the courage of Ate Pia and the ability to diet and exercise every day. I would love to, and I try, but it’s hard. I’m still young and I like to enjoy food and enjoy life.”

Recently, Enrique Gil also said Liza Soberano should join Miss Universe and even said he would bet all his money that she would win. Liza also gave the same answer and  “It would be an honor to become Miss Philippines and join Miss Universe but I really don’t see myself in that path. It’s not for me.”

Liza is known to be one of the most beautiful faces in showbiz and was recently revealed to be Avon’s ambassador for its Sweet Honesty Fragrance. She is also the brand endorser of Technomarine and is a style icon for many.
