Miss Universe 2015, Pia, announced through her Instagram on September 24 that her wax statue at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong will be unveiled in 2019, being the first Filipino ever to receive such an honor. Meanwhile, in taking part at the Kate Spade New York’s Spring 2019 presentation, Ms. Heart Evangelista was named as one of the “favorite faces” of the event by the design house itself. Pia Wurtzbach and Heart Evangelista: Icons of Filipina Beauty The Inquirer reports that Miss Pia Wurtzbach is the first Filipino to ever get a wax statue at Madame Tussauds. In her Instagram account, Ms. Wurtzbach is nothing short of ecstatic saying, “So excited to be the first Filipino (to be) part of Madame Tussauds! What a birthday treat!” In an interview, she said that she was very excited when she heard the news. Madame Tussauds Hong Kong likewise released a statement expressing their most warm welcome stating, “Welcome Miss Pia Wurtzbach – the first ever Filipino wax figure in Madame Tussauds Hong Kong!” Madame Tussauds went on saying that Pia is a “queen in every definition of the word.” Her wax figure will be joining other great icons from the world throughout history in its unveiling in 2019. The general manager of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, Jenny You, said that they could not have imagined anyone but Ms. Pia to represent the Philippines. Wurtzbach and Madame Tussauds’ London wax-making team worked closely together to get the color of her hair and eyes in the most precise way possible. Hear Evangelista, one of Kate Spade’s ‘favorite faces’ Also on September 24, the Manila Bulletin reports that Miss Heart Evangelista hit a significant milestone in the international fashion scene when she was listed as one of the “favorite faces” in the Spring 2019 presentation of Kate Spade New York. Included in that list are fashion A-listers Priyanka Chopra, Gillian Jacobs, Elizabeth Olsen, Kate Bosworth, Julia Jones, and Suki Waterhouse. Elle, renowned fashion magazine, voted Ms. Evangelista as one of the best-dressed celebrities in New York at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party. She wore the unforgettably elegant Mark Bumgarner black dress that got fashion critics nodding. Heart joins the big names in the fashion industry including Kendall Jenner, Nicki Minaj, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, and Cardi B. In August, Heart Evangelista was also included in a video by Harper’s Bazaar that shows the “Real Crazy Rich Asians.” In the video, author Kevin Kwan meets Heart and other style icons of Asia like Michelle Yeoh, Rachel Yeoh, and Feiping Chang in Paris, ABS-CBN reports. Kwan said that Heart is “the darling of the Philippines, one of the most acclaimed actresses. She is also a really gifted artist.
