POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG RECAP: Pinoy Boyband Superstar November 19 episode featured the third live show with only 10 heartthrobs left in the running. In tonight’s show, the remaining 10 contestants performed before the judges and the live audience. This time around, they performed their own song choices.
Before each performance, each group showed how they spent a day with less fortunate kids. They brought some Christmas cheer in a home for kids, where they shared their personal experiences when they gave their gifts.
#BoybandPH3rdLive Niel, James and Allen Sing “Best Song Ever”
The first group composed of Niel, James and Allen performed One Direction’s “Best Song Ever.” When the judges gave their comments, Sandara said that she enjoyed the performance so much. Vice on the other hand loved their performance. He also noted that all of them were enjoying themselves as they performed.
Judge Aga also had a great time watching them, like Vice. For him, Niel’s performance was a revelation this time around. Judge Yeng noted the group’s energy and charisma. For her, they were the complete package.
#BoybandPH3rdLive Henz, Tony and Russell Perform “One Thing”
Performing another One Direction hit “One Thing,” Henz, Tony and Russell were up next. The judges shared their comments about the group. First up, Vice said, “The entire performance was just good.” He added that it seems that “something is holding them back.” Aga agreed with Vice, saying that performances should be the best that the boys can give.
Both Yeng and Sandara said that there was something missing in their performance tonight. Sandara particularly liked the way they looked but added that they should also be nice to listen to.
BoybandPH3rdLive Joao, Ford, Tristan and Mark Sing OPM Song “Umuwi Ka Na Baby”
Unlike the first two groups, the group of Joao, Ford, Tristan and Mark chose an OPM love song “Umuwi Ka Na Baby.” After the performance, three judges – Yeng, Sandara and Vice – agreed that the group’s charisma was very strong. In terms of “kilig,” the group gave their all.
Yeng however noted that because they chose such a slow song, it was obvious which among them were not strong vocally. Vice on the other hand said that the group’s performance was not consistent.
Pinoy Boyband Superstar Judges Introduce New Mechanics
According to Billy, this week will see a change in choosing who will go to the survival round. Instead of choosing the weakest group, the judges will choose the weakest individual performer per group.
Sandara announced the weakest performer in the first group which was Allen. For the second group, Aga identified Henz. This is Henz’ third time to be up for elimination. Yeng announced the third weakest performance which is Ford.
Before the show ended, Vice said that the boyband of the week includes everyone who were not selected as weakest performers. They will be performing a special number in tomorrow’s episode, while Ford, Henz and Allen will be singing for survival.
