POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG RECAP: The November 20 episode of Pinoy Boyband Superstar features the show’s third elimination night. Three boyband aspirants, Allen, Henz and Ford will sing their survival songs. Who will be eliminated tonight and who will be saved is the question on everybody’s mind. At the end of the show, Henz became the third boyband contestant to be eliminated. Public voting saved Allen, while the judges chose to save Ford.
#BoybandPH3rdElim Ford Sings “Angels Cry”
Sporting a new hairstyle, heartthrob Ford sang Mariah Carey’s “Angels Cry.” After his performance, the judges gave their comments one by one. First up was Vice who said that he really felt Ford’s performance. He said, “I almost cried and I know if you will leave tonight I will hear the angels cry.” Judge Aga cited that Ford has come a long way.
As for Yeng, she noted that the first time she saw Ford, she thought he was better off as a solo performer. Tonight’s performance however showed her that he can be boyband material. Sandara on the other hand, said that Ford’s voice seemed to be more appropriate for slow songs. She also said that he was good to listen to and nice to look at.
After the judges gave their comments, Billy reminded the audience on how to vote through SMS and Google.
#BoybandPH3rdElim Henz Performs “Ang Huling El Bimbo”
Performing his third survival song so far, Henz chose “Ang Huling El Bimbo” by Eraserheads. When the judges were asked to give their comments, Aga was the first to speak. He said that he always liked Henz and his appeal. Yeng on the other hand commented on his vocals. She said that for her, his audition was the best performance she saw and she was looking for that. Sandara who was last to comment, said that vocally he still needs some improvement. However, she noted that improvement may sometimes come slowly.
#BoybandPH3rdElim Allen Sings “Hinahanap-hanap Kita”
Allen performed an OPM song “Hinahanap Hanap Kita.” After his performance, it was the judges’ turn to be heard. Judge Yeng praised Allen’s good rapport with the girls. She also liked his spirit because despite the condition of his voice, he still performed. Sandara, like Yeng, also noted his ability to perform even if his voice was not well: “Tuloy pa rin ang performance at naka-smile ka pa. Kaya napasmile mo rin kami.”
Vice on the other hand said that Allen was not supposed to be part of the weakest group. He said that all 4 judges agreed on this, but since they needed to choose one, Allen was chosen. Judge Aga added that it was also good that he was part of the weakest group so that he can prove himself tonight.
Pinoy Boyband Superstar 3rd Elimination Results: Allen and Ford Safe, Henz Out
The rest of the heartthrobs sang “Boys Do Fall In Love” to the delight of the all-girl audience.
After the performance, Billy announced the voting results from the public. With 40.45 per cent of combined votes, Allen was saved by public voting. This left Ford and Henz as the choices for the judges’ turn to save.
Vice was the first to vote and he chose Ford. Aga also voted for Ford. The third vote by Sandara was also for Ford. With three votes, Ford is considered safe. Yeng however gave her vote, which was also for Ford. This makes Henz Villaraiz the third contestant to be eliminated from the show.
