Three aspiring boyband heartthrobs sang for survival tonight. Returning on stage are Allen, James and Russell, who were voted the weakest boys in the November 26 episode. Host Billy Crawford once again said that among the three contestants, one will be saved by the voters and one by the judges. Whoever is left will need to leave the competition. Tonight, the boys sing songs they chose for themselves. #BoybandPH4thElim Russell Sings “Bakit Pa Ba?” First to perform was Russell, from Chicago. He chose OPM song “Bakit Pa Ba?,” explaining that he chose it to show his range as a performer. He also said that he wanted showcase how much he is willing to learn to speak Filipino better, which was a handicap for him. After his performance, the judges gave their comments. First off, Aga thanked Russell for the song. He also said that the reason why he voted to place Russell in the bottom three is to give him an opportunity to prove himself again, which he did. Yeng agreed with Aga, saying that tonight Russell shined and gave his all. She also praised him for his Filipino song choice, which for her meant that he was serious in proving that he was Pinoy. #BoybandPH4thElim James Performs “Just The Way You Are” Next on stage was James who chose Bruno Mars “Just The Way You Are.” He said that he chose the song because it signified that people should be true to themselves and should not change just because others want them to. After his song, Vice Ganda was first to give his comments. He said that James gave an “almost perfect performance, except for the last few notes which were a bit shaky.” On the other hand, Sandara said that his song choice was perfect for him. He really showed his boyband appeal during his performance. #BoybandPH4thElim Allen Chooses “Kumusta Ka” Allen the third performer chose another OPM “Kumusta Ka.” According to him, he chose the song because it was a song that reminded him of his parents who lived through a long distance relationship. Despite the distance, their love never changed so much so that his parents would never forget to talk to each other regularly to ask how they are. Judge Yeng gave her comments after his performance. According to her, she liked Allen’s look and appeal tonight. However, she was distracted by the way he sang his notes. When it was judge Vice’s turn to speak, he said that tonight’s performance was all about showing one’s strength. He noted that Russell’s was his voice while James was his appeal. He however did see Allen’s strength in his performance. Pinoy Boyband Superstar: Voters Save Russell, Judges Save James, Allen Out Garnering 44.31 per cent of combined SMS and Google votes, the public chose to save Russell. With only James and Allen left, the judges voted on who to save. Only Yeng voted for Allen so James got most of the votes. Because of this, Allen is eliminated this week.
