Pinoy Boyband Superstar Oct 29 Episode: Three Groups Perform, see PBS photos here

Welcome back to the Popcorn Time live blog of Pinoy Boyband Superstar, Oct. 29 episode. Tonight’s episode features the performances of the five boyband groups formed last weekend. The judges handed out song assignments on Oct 23 which include “Sukob Na,” “This I Promise You,” “Love Me For A Reason,” “Nanghihinayang” and “Uptown Girls.”

Will their performances tonight be good enough to make them a part of the Top 12? Even if they perform as a group, each contestant will still be judged based on their individual performances. According to host Billy Crawford, nine contestants will be chosen by the judges, while only three will come from the girls’ votes.

#BoybandPH Group 1 Performs “Sukob Na”

Group 1 with members Joao, Henz, Luigi, Mark and Joshua performed “Sukob Na.” Judging by the girls’ screams, the performance thrilled them very much. Then the judges gave their comments. Aga congratulated them for their stage presence and their performance. Sandara said that she was “kilig” with their song. Vice Ganda said that he also felt the “kilig” that Sandara felt. Yeng on the hand singled out Mark as one who stood out during the song.

Before the girls could give their votes, the boys were given 10 seconds each to say why they deserve to be part of top 12.

#BoybandPH “This I Promise You” for Group 2

Gab, Isaiah, Russell, Markus and Gabriel form Group 2. They performed “This I Promise You” of N’Sync. Sandara’s over excitement got the best of her and said she was happy with the group they formed. Vice said that solo parts were alright but it came to harmonizing, he noted the weakness of the group. For Vice, Russell and Markus stood out. Yeng said they were better vocally compared to the first group.

Like the first group, each member gave their reason to be part of top 12.

#BoybandPH Group 3 Sings “Love Me For a Reason”

Niel, Allen, Raynald, Keanno, and Raymond make up Group 3, who sang “Love Me For a Reason.” When it came to the judges’ comments, most of them noted that two members of the group did not do so well. Raymond performed his bit out of timing, while Keanno did not hit the high notes of his part. Vice commented that it was only a “good” performance. He singled out Niel who had a good voice, but did not stand out like the others. Yeng said that the group was the “cute” group.

In the next episode, two more groups will perform. Keep it here for another live blog. Pinoy Boyband Superstar airs on ABS-CBN on weekends, at 7:15 p.m. It is also available via livestreaming on IwantTv.com.ph.
