Why Filipinos Are Crazy About Pinoy Love Teams

The Philippine entertainment industry seems to be very fond of the ideology of romance or love. Filipinos are already fed up with so many problems and somehow, many have found romantic stories as their escape to fill in what is lacking in their lives. Love serves as an inspiration for them to live and be happy. Pinoy love teams like KathNiel, AldUb, Jadine, LizQuen, JoshLia, and more don’t fail to bring “kilig” and happiness that makes Filipinos be crazy about them.

Reasons why Filipinos Are Crazy About Pinoy Love Teams

Filipinos are Hopeless Romantics

Who doesn’t want to be loved?

The feeling of being in love and the “kilig” moments from TV shows and films make Filipinos addicted to loveteams. Most pinoys are quite obsessed with loveteams like LizQuen (Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil), KathNiel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla), AlDub (Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza), JaDine (James Reid and Nadine Lustre) and more.

Since 1920’s, Filipinos were already fanatics of  Pinoy loveteams. According to Gulf News, the first ever loveteam to have made it on the industry was Mary Walter and Gregorio Fernandez. The two were in movies like “Ang Lumang Simbahan (1928),” “Desperation (1929),” “Don Juana Tinoso (1930),” “Ang Gayuma (1932),” and “Ang Lihim ni Bathala (1934).”

Ideally, Filipinos, especially teenagers and young adults, tend to believe in happy endings which make them believe that the loveteams they idolize will last and end up together. They somehow hope that they would also have the same kind of relationship in real life. If they don’t, they get disappointed.

Filipinos want to be fashionistas like their fave Loveteams

Filipinos love fashion and are so much concerned about physical appearance because of the influence of media. Guys should be tall and handsome while the gals should be fair skinned and flawless with perfect hair.

One of the reasons why they admire loveteams so much is that they love how they look and they want to somehow look like them and imitate them. Sometimes they go overboard and even fight the rival loveteam just to prove who looked better.

The Undying Storyline

Romantic genre hits the Pinoy taste. Almost every storyline of TV shows or movies in the Philippines is about a romantic relationship. Even if they appear to be either an action, drama or fantasy movie, they will still end up having a love story.

Producers know that Filipinos love these kinds of stories. And so when they make films, they make sure they include famous loveteams to make it more real. Filipinos can’t help but patronize Pinoy loveteams because producers keep on showing the same faces on tv shows, commercials, and films.

Loveteams are always good for business

Producers want to have a movie or TV show with the same famous loveteams because they are afraid Filipinos won’t bother watching it if they weren’t in it.  Producers or agencies hold onto loveteams because they get good ratings and earn big from them.

It’s not about the loveteam that counts but the impact they give towards the people. The happiness they bring just to forget or distract people from their problems is what it really makes sense. So, for those who love Pinoy Love team Jadine, Kathniel, Lizquen, and Aldub, continue to be inspired and feel the love they bring.
