It is a good thing that beginning March 9, cinema viewers will have much to look forward to. This week’s collection includes Kong: Skull Island, Before I Fall, A Kind of Murder, and Pwera Usog.

Kong: Skull Island Reboots the King Kong Franchise

The reboot to the King Kong franchise is set to 1973 where a secret organization called Monarch sets food on mysterious island which is said to be the cradle for new species. The group encounters a monstrous ape “Kong” who fights against the “Skull Crawlers” for dominion over the isle. Kong is furious at the these predators because they have eliminated his kind. The film stars Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, Brie Larson, and many others.

Before I Fall: From a Novel to a Film

The drama is a film adaptation of the 2010 novel, Before I Fall written by Lauren Oliver. It tells the story of high school senior Samantha Kingston who finds herself living out the last day of her life over and over again until. This goes on until she finally figures out how to live her life the right way. The movie is an interpretation of man’s common sentiment, “What if I had only one day left to live?” In a deeper sense, it may help viewers realize what matters most in life. Zoey Deutch, Erica Tremblay, Halston Sage, Logan Miller, Kian Lawley, Jennifer Beals, Diego Boneta and Elena Kampouris are the star ensemble.

Jessica Biel and Patrick Wilson Star in Thriller A Kind of Murder

Patrick Wilson is Walter Stackhouse, a successful architect in 1960’s New York. He is happily married to Clara (Jessica Biel) and seems to live the ideal life. Because of Walter’s fascination with unsolved murders, he gets tangled into a chase with a murderer and detective who is as aggressive as anything. He slowly sees that even his marriage begins to fall apart.

Pranksters Beware – Pwera Usog

The Filipino horror film is about a group of friends who play a prank on a homeless girl leaving her terrified and injured. What began as something funny turns deadly when one by one, the pranksters fall in the hands of illness and death. The only thing they attest to seeing is a mysterious shadow. Devon Seron, Joseph Marco and Sofia Andres star in the film written and directed by Jason Paul Laxamana.
