Popcorn News Picks Feb. 6 To Feb. 12: DanRich Breakup, Beyoncé And Amal Clooney, Super Bowl, Your Face Sounds Familiar And More

Before we take on the second week of the second month of 2017, let’s do a quick recap on all the things that took place in February’s first few days. So much has happened already; allow Pilipinas Popcorn to recap if not update you on the latest issues these past few days:

Super Bowl Extravaganza

For all the football fans out there who watched the game, you’ve all witnessed New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady make history. Their phenomenal comeback from a 25-point deficit to a 34-point victory over Atlanta Falcons’ 28-point score has made them the first team ever to overcome a deficit with more than 10 points to win the Super Bowl. For the Falcons, best of luck to the team who also gave their all.

The Super Bowl is also famous for its halftime shows. This year, Lady Gaga performed an astounding number that got Twitter and other social medias blasting with shares. Other than that, premiering of trailers for upcoming movies are widely anticipated. Watch it all here.

‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’ Wow performances

That’s not all for this week’s wrap up. There are four very talented celebrity kids that have pulled judges and crowds from their seats. YFSF contestants Lyca, AC, Xia and Alonzo exhibited outstanding performances as they delivered iconic songs from famous local and international artists.

Lyca went the extra mile singing as a male OPM icon, Freddie Aguilar. Alonzo got Judge Ogie’s praise for Alonzo’s head-banging show as Bon Jovi singing “It’s My Life”. Xia also performed as Pilita Corrales, with exclusive help from Pilita herself. Lastly, “Amazingly Contagious” AC got the crowd falling in love with her impressive Usher impersonation, singing “DJ Got Us Falling In Love.” For week 6, AC is the winner. Four days before Valentine’s, DanRich fans faced what could be the most heart-wrenching news for their 2017. What could possibly end such an impeccable relationship of two years? Sadly, there isn’t one in the first place. According to both parties, there wasn’t a third party. Money was also mentioned, but it seems it’s an issue they both have different interpretations on. Beyoncé Is Having Twins, Growing By Two Announced Via Instagram

Another explosive announcement from the stunning Beyoncé as she shares her latest addition to their little family. In an Instagram photo she posted, she reveals the baby bump as she kneels on a bed of flowers with a veil over her head.

The photo blew up Instagram with 6 million likes only in the span of eight hours. The caption read, “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. – The Carters.”

George And Amal Clooney Expecting Twins

It looks like Beyoncé and Jay-Z aren’t the only celebrities celebrating this month of love with new members of the family because it appears as though the Clooney couple is also looking forward to spending it with two very special embryos. According to a close family friend, the International Human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin-Clooney is an expectant mother.

Previously one of the most sought-after Hollywood bachelors, this might be the biggest, most challenging role for George Clooney yet: a father.

8th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition Kicks Off Feb. 11

Dark skies are about to turn brighter with the most-anticipated music and lights show of the year, the 8th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition, initially known as World Pyro Olympics. In this annual competition, international fireworks manufacturers go head to head and show off their blasts.

Participants from countries include competitors from France, Germany, China, Canada, Australia and the reigning Pyrotex UK. The first show started on February 11 and will continue every Saturday until March 18.

NPA Alert

In the recent days, there has been an increased activity of New People’s Army Rebels. Different regions like Cagayan, Quezon, Benguet and Bukidnon have recently reported incidents of arson and extortion. Days before this, President Rodrigo Duterte terminated the peace talks with the Maoist group (CPP-NPA-NDF).

These incidents have caused tension and apprehension among citizens, and because of this, the Philippine Army’s 7th Division has announced that there will be a security system of “focused military operations” underway operating in Central Luzon, the Ilocos regions, and in the Cordillera.
