He’s the couple’s third child. The baby weighed 8 pounds and 7 ounces and was born at 11:01 am (1001 GMT). Just six hours after giving birth, Kate stepped out to show the world her new baby on the steps of the private Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital. William was right by her side. The couple then went home to Kensington Palace after he met his older siblings, George and Charlotte. It seemed like Kate was again, channeling the late Princess Diana with her outfit. She wore a red dress with a white collar, similar to what Diana wore when she first showed off Prince Harry to the world. Prince William and Duchess Kate tied the knot in April 2011. Tony Appleton, a town-crier, stood at the hospital steps in a flamboyant red uniform and cried out “It’s a boy!” which got the crowds going wild.The BT Tower in London had “It’s a boy!” scrawled on its 189-meter display screen. 5. Gun salutes and marines in formation for celebration There will be a 41-gun salute in Hyde Park in London and 62 rounds at the Tower of London to honor the birth of Kate and William’s second son. Sailors and royal marines on the HMS Albion also joined in on the celebration. The lined up on the flight deck of the assault ship on operations in the Asia-Pacific region and spelled out “boy!” The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge leave St Mary’s Hospital with their new arrival, a baby boy.
