The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) are in search for 10 suspects for the killing of a 28-year old Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), Abigail Gino Basas.
The Inquirer reports that witnesses who are usuals at the Perfect Spot Bar and Billiards identifies four mauling suspects. QCPD says Frits Mohammed is the primary of the four suspects with Cyril Rada, Earl Grande and one named Jammel. The attack happened in Barangay Sacred Heart in the parking lot on Scout Dr. Lazcano.
Suspects Identified As Students
Additionally, investigators received information that the suspects are college students and that 5 of the 10 suspects are women.They may be students from either University of the East in Manila or National University. The police and schools are in contact to ask for their cooperation.
Two of Basa’s companions that night, Marco de Leon, 23, and Lloyd Melvin Lisondra, 22, also got beat up. Lisondra describes Mohammed and is drawn into a cartographic sketch.
Caught On CCTV
Police retrieve footage from closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV) which show how events folded out.At about 2:44 AM, Basas bumped into Mohammed In the billiards area. Mohammed is about 5’6 to 5’7 in height and has shoulder-length hair.
In the footage, Mohammed appeared drunk and was following Basas. Mohammed and his companions later ganged up on Basas and the two who were with him in the parking lot. According to De Leon, Basas was knocked down from a punch to the chin and was repeatedly kicked by the suspects.
Based on the autopsy, Basas suffered from a hematoma, or a blood clot due to a broken blood vessel. Basas is an Australia-based cruise ship photographer who was on vacation when he was fatally mauled.
